Types of saunas in Lucky Bansko

Take some time for yourself, in which you want to enjoy complete relaxation of mind and body.

The SPA center of the Lucky Bansko Hotel has several types of saunas that you can use during your stay.

Finnish sauna

Lucky Bansko has two Finnish saunas: one traditional and one herbal.

The traditional Finnish sauna is a wooden cabin in which there are heated stones that are poured with water.

The water vapor helps to increase the air temperature in the room to 80-100°C.

How to use

Before entering one of the Finnish saunas of Lucky Bansko, you must take a shower. You enter the sauna in a bathrobe or swimsuit.

After you enter and relax, it is a good idea to periodically pour water on the stones with a ladle to enjoy the relaxation and warmth in the sauna.

Benefits of the Finnish sauna

Staying in the sauna of Lucky Bansko brings a number of benefits. The high temperature and warmth provided by the sauna can help relax muscles and relieve muscle pain.

In addition, it stimulates blood circulation and helps cleanse the body of toxins that have accumulated not only under the skin, but also deep in the body. As a result, the stay normalizes blood pressure and reduces stress levels.

Contraindications

Since the air temperature in a traditional Finnish sauna reaches 80-100 degrees, staying in it is not recommended if you have open wounds, suffer from acute heart failure, severe aortic stenosis or hypertension.

The sauna is also not recommended during pregnancy and after drinking alcohol.

Infrared sauna

Unlike a traditional Finnish sauna, which uses hot stones to raise the air temperature, an infrared sauna uses infrared rays to warm your body without heating the air around you.

This sauna is much gentler on the body, especially for people with a history of heart disease.

How to use

Staying in an infrared sauna is not much different from staying in a traditional sauna.

The main difference is that there is no need to regulate the air temperature by watering the stones or in any other way, since the sauna heats the air using infrared light.

Benefits of an infrared sauna

The infrared rays of the sauna accelerate cellular functions, which stimulates blood circulation, improves the functioning of the cardiovascular system and strengthens the immune system.

Regular use of an infrared sauna also helps to reduce tension, improves oxygenation and contributes to improving the complexion of the skin.

In addition, infrared sauna therapy reduces stress and fatigue, accelerates the healing process of wounds, copes with a number of skin problems such as eczema, acne pimples, relaxes muscles and reduces pain in diseases such as arthritis.

Contraindications

Although it is gentler on the body, the infrared sauna is not recommended during pregnancy, recent trauma or serious surgery, severe cardiovascular disease, as well as difficulty breathing, dehydration, and general weakness.

Enjoy a unique SPA experience in our saunas

It’s convenient and easy — book your session directly at the SPA reception or by phone.

The time spent in the sauna is usually around 20 to 25 minutes. However, our recommendation is that if you are visiting the sauna for the first time, limit your time to 5 to 10 minutes.

Every one of our guests can use both the two Finnish saunas and the infrared sauna completely free of charge.

Each sauna can be used an unlimited number of times. Our recommendation is that after your first sauna use, you should exit, hydrate with tea, a smoothie, or a freshly squeezed juice from our Nutri Bar, before re-entering the sauna.
