What is a cryosauna?
The cryosauna is a vertical cabin for performing cryotherapy procedures, which involve cooling the entire body (excluding the head) to temperatures from -120°C to -180°C.
The basic principle on which cryotherapy is based is cooling the body to very low temperatures for a short time. – from 1 to 3 minutes.
The sudden drop in temperature causes the entire body to undergo what is known as vasoconstriction, followed by vasodilation. This leads to increased blood circulation and the delivery of more oxygen and nutrients to all of its tissues.
The term cryotherapy comes from the Greek word Kyros, which means freezing or treatment by cold. This comes to show that this method of treatment has been used since ancient times.
Today, mainly thanks to the advancement of technology, this type of therapy is one of the most preferred high-tech methods for burning fat, speeding up metabolism, removing toxins and quickly and non-invasively shaping the body.
The cryo sauna in Lucky Bansko.
The SPA center at Lucky Bansko features a high-end cryosauna. The device is a vertical, enclosed cabin that uses nitrogen gas to rapidly cool to temperatures from -120 °C to -180 °C.
Cryotherapy is performed after a preliminary consultation, signing of a consent form and necessarily under the supervision of a medical professional.
For patients under 18 years of age, we require mandatory parental consent.
How to use the cryotherapy device
Before the procedure begins, everyone should familiarize themselves in detail with both the benefits and contraindications of the therapy, described below.
A consent form must be signed and blood pressure checked by the hotel’s medical staff.
Here are the mandatory conditions and what the procedure is:
- Before entering the cryosauna, all parts of the body must be completely dry, and the clothes must be made of 100% cotton.
- It is extremely important to remove all metal objects, including bras with metal underwires, as the very low temperatures in the chamber can cause burns to the skin.
- After entering the cryosauna, it is tightly closed and liquid nitrogen is released into it in the form of a gas, thanks to which the temperature drops to -120 or -160 ° C in just 40 seconds.
- The stay in the cryosauna is from 1 to 3 minutes. It is recommended that the therapy be performed no more than two to three times a week, and with longer use, the frequency of procedures should be reduced.
The cryochamber is equipped with indicators for precise monitoring of the process. If you are worried or feel uncomfortable, you should immediately share it with our team, who will carefully monitor or terminate the procedure.
After the end of the session, it is advisable to do a light warm-up with exercises to normalize blood circulation.
Benefits of cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is completely harmless to the human body, as despite the extremely low temperatures, only the surface layer of the skin is cooled during the session. The sensation is of pleasant cooling, but not of stylish cold.
The benefits of staying in the Lucky Bansko cryosauna are as follows:
- Detoxifies and helps renew cells: During the cryo procedure, cells shrink, which stimulates the detoxification and regeneration processes.
- Helps increase attention and concentration: Cooling also stimulates thermoreceptors in the brain and releases a large amount of a neurotransmitter called noradrenaline. This stimulates brain cells, which in turn increases concentration and promotes mental well-being.
- Reduces muscle pain and inflammation: One of the great advantages of cryotherapy is that it offers rapid recovery after sports injuries and overwork, eliminates swelling and reduces muscle and joint pain. This type of therapy is very often used by professional athletes and athletes, who, thanks to the principle of freezing, manage to get back into optimal shape.
- Restores hormonal balance: Exposing the body to very low temperatures for a short period of time stimulates the endocrine, excretory, and immune systems. This helps restore hormonal balance and improve all body functions.
- Reduces stress and anxiety: During cryotherapy, the body releases endorphins, which increase good mood and help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and quality sleep.
- Improves blood circulation and removes toxins from the body: The subzero temperatures of cryotherapy stimulate and improve blood circulation, which not only facilitates the delivery of oxygen to all cells of the body, but also helps it deal with free radicals effectively and flush out toxins.
- Stimulates metabolism and helps with weight loss: During exposure to low temperatures, the body produces the hormone norepinephrine. It has the ability to stimulate and speed up metabolism. In this regard, it has been scientifically proven that even one cryochamber procedure can burn up to 1000 calories in the body.
- Promotes cell regeneration and helps slow down the aging process: Cryotherapy is a way to boost collagen production, which is a key building block against aging. Increased collagen production, in turn, helps reduce wrinkles, tightens and smoothes the skin, and increases its elasticity.
- Stimulates the immune system: Stimulates the immune system: Using a cryosauna 2-3 times a week not only supports the immune system, but also has an analgesic effect. It stimulates the production of pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory substances such as endorphins and cytokines.
In addition, staying in the cryosauna is useful in treating chronic skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, and rashes.болявания като псориазис, екземи, дерматит, обриви.
